BitDefender, an award-winning provider of security software and services, today announces the achievement of a 100% detection rate in the antivirus test organized by the prestigious Virus Bulletin. The product awarded was the recently launched BitDefender Standard Edition v7 (for Microsoft Windows), part of the new desktop protection suite from BitDefender.

Besides BitDefender Standard Edition’s unmatched virus scanning capabilities, BitDefender Professional Edition also features a behavior-based analysis module, Internet protection (e-mail, browser, instant messaging or active content filtering) and privacy control. The application is able to scan and disinfect the most popular archives (ZIP, RAR, ARJ, ACE, CAB RPM, etc.) and can be fine-tuned to allow a second action on infected files discovered on-access.
